5 Things You Should Know about E-mail Ettiquette:

1. TURN OFF THE CAPS LOCK!
2. Turn off the background/border. Everytime you send me one of those I have to store another copy of the picture on my hard drive (or just delete your message).
3. Don't use HTML formatting in your mail. The greeting which looks like Hi There on your screen can look like Hi There to the recipient. Trust me on this, it doesn't have the effect you intended.
4. Don't send me an attachment without including in the body of the text the name of the file and the reason I should open it. E-mail viruses spread almost exclusively through attachments and only the imprudent open attachments without a darn good reason.
5. Don't assume that the recipient of your message has all of the same programs that you do. I can't count the number of times frustrated clients have called me to get attachments converted into something that they can use.
