When we quit playing with computers then it's time to move into the kitchen. Here are some of our favourite food sites:
- All Recipes is almost always the first stop in the search for a recipe. Good newsletters too!http://www.allrecipes.com/
- Even larger but a bit harder to use is The Dinner Co_op http://dinnercoop.cs.cmu.edu/dinnercoop/
- Next comes a real monster, The Searchable Online Archive of Recipes (SEAR) http://www.recipesource.com/ has over 67,000 well indexed recipes and a good search function. You won't soon run out of recipes much less get to the end of the internet.
- And for desert what else, Godiva chocolate recipes http://www.godiva.com/
- Click here for more Food Resources!
If its worth saying...it worth saying right:
- The Online English Grammar http://www.edufind.com/english/grammar/
- which is part of the BBCi Best of the Web directory http://www.bbc.co.uk/
Tired of the CNN propaganda machine blaring at you from the tube? Try the web site at http://www.cnn.com/. Same BS but it's easier on the ears.
Whatever you do don't stop at CNN. It's a big world out there and a lot of people have a different take on it. The BBC News World Edition (updated every minute of every day), our very own CBC, the Voice of Russia (English), TV New Zealand, Aljazeera (Arabic), and the list goes onAll of the world's great newspapers are online. Try The Times (that's London of course), the New York Times, Paris Match (French), Correio da Manha (Portugese), Pravda (English), and 'thousands' of others at onlinenewspapers.com.
If you really want to listen then check out TVRadio World
And last but certainly not least are the alternative media. The mainstream media are big, big business complete with big business biases. Some other folks can be read at Project Censored and Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting. You may not like what they have to say. You may not believe them. You might start to read and listen more critically and that would indeed be a 'good thing'.
